4 c’s in Food Safety

You should always keep these four things in mind when it comes to ensuring your food is safe and ready to eat: clean, cooking, cook, and prevent contamination.

1. Clean – Clean and clear as you go and as frequently as necessary.

3. Cook – make sure you cook foods until they’re done all the way through (especially ground beef and pork) so that any harmful bacteria is killed off by the heat

4. Chill – Do not put hot food directly in the fridge or freezer, first you need to cool it down first

5. Prevent contamination – don’t let raw meats come into contact with other foods like vegetables, fruit or cooked meat because this can lead to cross-contamination
